Our process uses a unique method of shaping the wood so that there is no residual stress and each stave is shaped to high precision in order to make the shell. In most cases the shell is made from a single board insuring that the density of the shell is consistent. This process allows us to produce a shell that is 1/4” thick, giving you the most volume and attack possible. We also add a thin edge band at the top and bottom of the drum to add some strength to the shell.

Head Drums manufactures the only thin shell stave drums using a unique proprietary process. This makes our drums more sensitive, with more dynamic response and better stick response than any other drum available. We make drums from 8” to 24” in diameter.

If you would like to become a part of our builder program we will be happy to supply you our shells using our OEM pricing. We can provide you with shells and shell packs that are sanded, sealed beveled and drilled or not, depending on the type of build out you want to do. We have competative specials for builders only.
