I still use and love the drum you made for me and recently did a demo exclusively using your drum out of all the snares I have. The drum has a little scuff on it, but still looks amazing and is holding up to the brutal Vegas heat. Here’s a link via youtube for you to check out the demo using your drum – http://youtu.be/Ny6BU-PbewQ …you can really see it at the very end on the drumset clip and has a close-up. –Kit Chatham

Currently dixon resides in sunny los angeles, california after spending the previous six years in colorado’s rocky mountains playing drums for the progressive rock band “signal to noise”. together, jesse and signal landed a deal with indie label eyeball records. they released a self-titled e.p. in the fall of ’06 and promptly followed with their full-length record, kodiak, in the summer of ’07. signal to noise toured the country relentlessly for three years before jesse decided to part ways and head home to southern california.

I’m playing the Brazilian rosewood snare drum you built for me. Stu became interested in the drums at the age of seven when he saw Buddy Rich play on TV, and after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, like thousands of other musicians, he was hooked. As a result, Stu has had an illustrious career playing with such acts as The Younger Brothers, The Coasters, BJ Thomas, Johnny Rivers, Little Ronnie & The Bluebeats, Tinsley Ellis, Chuck Leavell, Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown, Robbin Thompson, Steve Bassett, Big City, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, The Grassroots, The Taters, The Chris Stanley Band (which included The Wrest’s Tommy Hughes) and many others!

It was during a show in 2000 that both the Chris Stanley Band and the original Wrest trio (Pat, Jane & Jim) performed, that Stu turned to Tommy, upon hearing the trio absolutely nail “Suite Judy Blue Eyes”, and said, “These guys need a bass player and a drummer!! Just
imagine what they would sound like!” Well, Stu’s statement that day finally became reality when he joined the band in the summer of 2004 (Tommy had joined in 2002), and The Wrest has been rockin’ ever since.

Studio and Session Drummer, FL

Jason Alligood is a multi-faceted musician/drummer constantly working to improve his musicianship and knowledge of music. Performing in both band and orchestral settings as a drummer/percussionist while also grooming in the areas of songwriting, engineering and production, Jason has a strong sense of what is required to complement different styles, genres and medium. Past projects include live and recorded works with bands and theater groups. Currently, Jason is working on several projects including an independent compilation of songs for ministry purposes and songwriting efforts for television and movies with engineer/producer and musician David Glenn of Spiritwalk Productions. Together with Harry Gettings (accomplished pianist and production engineer) of Starke Lake Studios the trio is in writing and production of original music for publishing. With comprehensive musicianship, writing, production and engineering, this newly formed team looks to create works that will entertain and inspire the masses.

Jason is currently playing two Headdrum snares. A 12” mahogany and 13” padouk are part of his arsenal of drums. These two woods offer great versatility for the multitude of styles and genres he engages in regularly.

“Working with Steve has been a lesson in humility and a great example of custom service. The knowledge not only as a musician and craftsmen but also as a mechanical engineer puts Steve in the forefront of custom drum making. Once I laid into the drums Steve could offer, I threw away my store-bought snares and never looked backed. With the multitude of woods available and Steve’s precision craftsmanship, these are truly one-of-a kind drums.”

Session Drummer, Bloomsbury NJ

As an artist influenced by American, world, and folk music, Eric Amadeo is currently broadening his musical vocabulary and versatility drumming for the regularly-performing all 80’s cover band Amethyst (www.amethyst80s.com), as well as recording and performing with a broad range of artists throughout the New Jersey area. Born and raised in New Jersey to an Italian father and a Spanish and Lithuanian mother, Amadeo has been submerged since birth in the cultural-folk influences of a diverse European, Mediterranean and South American backdrop, blended with the emergence of the Rock and Roll revolution lived by his parents.

“He can play anything,” was the recommendation of Nicole LaFleur, Director of Education for the American Repertory Ballet. This reference is what offered Eric Amadeo the opportunity to write and perform a 5 plus minute solo rhythmic accompaniment interpreted live by 25 dancers, for a two night showcase called “Rider Dances With The Band” (www.rider.edu/16195_9665.htm). It was years of live performances and open microphone nights, sitting-in with anyone who wanted drum-backing, that made this such an easy transition. This is only one of many performance opportunities that showcase the musicality of Eric Amadeo. By accompanying singer songwriters like Tom Vella, Arnie Baird, Eric Ginsberg, Rick Krueger, and Andrew Lee Rubinger, performing with Indie bands such as Logs in the Mainstream, Bustercox, and The Wayside, being included in the Frankensound Studios (www.frankensound.com) stable of session musicians, and even being the drummer for the New Jersey 101.5 Radio spot, Amadeo has been laying the foundation for a working drummer’s portfolio.

As a precursor to a solo artist’s career, Eric Amadeo released a single in 2007 called “Molly Rocket” that was selected for Quickstar Productions’ Chill-Out East Coast Edition Vol. 10 compilation, now available for download through iTunes among others. Amadeo wrote and recorded the song himself, playing all of the instruments as well as performing the lead and background vocals. Developing an even deeper musical vocabulary has been his main focus with one end in mind; to release his first solo album and develop a library of material to perform and share. Always enamored with the hum and life of acoustic instruments, Eric Amadeo has his eyes trained on the acoustic band prize. “Once the first album is complete, it’s time to build the band” he says. It’s time to build the band. That resonates.

“You’ve got great instincts” says Andrew Lee Rubinger, as they scratch-track some ideas for a new song Rubinger wrote. That seems to say it all with Eric. He is always musical as a drummer and song-centric as a collaborator. Like a flashy Latin-inspired Ringo Star he looks to fit in the right spots, and like Mick Fleetwood stay in the mighty pocket. Look for great things from Eric Amadeo over his career arc… the sounds he calls from his drums are guaranteed make you move.

Throughout his childhood, Paul felt magnetized to music from the depth of his being. He began playing drums professionally at age 14 has led, recorded, or performed with countless combinations of the Denver area’s best players and with internationally acclaimed artists such as Randy Brecker, Eddie Harris, Benny Golson, James Moody, Larry Coryell, Gunther Schuller, Houston Person, Charlie Rouse, Eddie Gomez, Bobby Watson, Anita O’Day, Jack McDuff, Marlena Shaw, Rufus Reid, Clark Terry, Roberta Gambarini, and Rene Marie.
During his association with the Woody Herman Orchestra, Paul toured North America performing concerts and clinics. In between gigs, he studied jazz composition at the Lamont School of Music and, in 1991 received a degree in recording engineering from the University of Colorado. He has served as a mentor musician/clinician in several Denver area school districts, as well as in the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Education Program. While mentoring, he saw the need for a jazz education program for students who are serious about the music, and he founded the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (www.jazzarts.org ). As the Artistic Director, he has developed unique programs for middle school and high school students from all over the Denver area to play together and study with professional musicians. In addition to teaching at Metropolitan State College, Paul also serves on the music faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In the Spring of 2005, Paul was honored to travel to Washington D.C. to receive a Presidential Scholars Program Teacher Recognition Award from the U.S. Department of Education.
