When you buy a custom drum from Head Drums, you’ll be getting a thin shell stave drum made from the finest quality wood precision crafted to produce the sound you’re looking for in a drum. Working closely with you we fully customize your drum by choosing the best combination of features in each of the categories below.

• Wood – We offer over 20 varieties of wood each with its unique properties and sound.
• Dimensions – We offer diameters from 8” to 26”, including 13s, and will build to any height you desire.
• Bearing edge – We recommend the vintage over round, but will happily put a 45/45 bearing edge on your drum if you prefer.
• Finish – Finishes include shellac, satin lacquer, and gloss lacquer. We also offer stained finishes.
• Lugs – Top Hat lugs, Bullet lugs, Vintage Tube and other custom lugs are available.
• Hoops – Our own solid Oak Vintage hoops, Oak with Maple outer cover hoops, Triple Flange chrome rims, Die Cast rims (Tama style) and other custom rims.
• Heads - Our standard head is the Remo Ambassador coated.
• Snare hardware – We use Trick for our standard throw-off, other options are available on request. Standard: German wires, custom options are available.
