Made in the U.S.A.
Head Drums is an all-American small business. We are dedicated to providing our customers with excellent service, a completely unique and superior product, and as much individual assistance as you need to determine exactly which drum is the perfect match for your playing style and preferred sound.
And, while we make drums out of a variety of exotic woods from all over the world, our manufacturing site is located in the good ol’ U.S.A. and all of our drums are made here. So, if you’re looking for a drum that looks and sounds like no other, and you want it to be American made, you’ve come to the right place!
All custom, all high quality.
Our drums are all made-to-order. As soon as you place your order, we go out and procure top-quality wood and other materials, and begin our process. We build our drums based on a precise, exacting method, and check each item we ship to be sure it meets our demanding quality standards. Your enjoyment of your drum is our top priority.
We are a green company, and so is our product.
Here at Head Drums, we care very much about the environment, and we reflect that in our manufacturing process, and how we conduct business. We use a woodworking method that minimizes waste. Our process uses less wood than any other manufacturing method out there, including: plywood, hollowed-log shells, and thick stave. We dispose of all waste by reusing it for organic purposes—we don’t throw anything away.
Also, Head Drums is the only company that offers drums made from Brazilian Lyptus wood, a cultivated hardwood and certified “conservation lumber” (which is a sustainable resource!).
We’re Celebrating 11 years in Business!
Head Drums opened in Denver, CO, in 1999, with a vision of crafting drums that sounded better than anything else on the market. After ten years making drums, we’re thankful that we have been able to help drummers find the sound they’re looking for. We have sold drums to players locally, nationally and internationally. Please check out our “Players” page to see some of the drummers who play our snares and kits.
Our product offerings have increased over time. In 2006, we introduced our Top Hat lug. And in 2009, we began making white oak wood hoops in both vintage and “cover” styles. This year, we added an optional maple outer layer to our “cover” hoops, so that they’ll match maple bass hoops. We’ve also relocated to Austin, TX, the renowned haven of American musical talent and experimentation.
We are constantly developing new products that are focused on one thing: making the best-sounding drums in the world.
