why do drums go out of tune?
The most common cause for drums de-tuning while playing is the gap between the tension rod thread and the internal thread of the lug. This gap leaves room for the parts to vibrate when the drum is played. The more room for vibration in the hardware, the more likely the drum will de-tune when played. Adding grease or oil to the lug only makes the problem worse.
How does Lug Tight work?Lugtight goes on as a thick liquid, like latex paint. As the patented formula dries, it conforms to the gaps in the hardware leaving a lubracating film in between parts. This eliminates the need for grease and stops vibration in the tension rods. Result? Drums stay in tune.
How do I use Lug Tight?Lugtight is an alcohol based product, so you may smell the solvent as it evaporates. It cleans up with a cloth when dry or can be dissolved with rubbing alcohol. Apply Lugtight to the tension rod threads or the inside thread of the lug using the applicator brush. And thread the parts together while wet. After about an hour, Lugtight will set up. Lugtight is not a bonder or a glue. One bottle is enough to treat four to six drums.
